[Via Satellite 05-01-2014] Thuraya has joined the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA), the non-profit organization for promoting the interests of the users of Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) across the globe.

“We believe that through engagement with MSUA, we can build on our legacy to take innovation in the mobile satellite industry to the next level,” said Samer Halawi, CEO at Thuraya. “Mobile satellite plays a vital role in providing communications in areas which are unserved or underserved by terrestrial networks.”

The company is set to join the existing operators and providers currently part of MSUA, such as Airbus Defence and Space, Cobham Satcom, Comtech Mobile Datacom, Globalstar and Hughes Network Systems, among others.
