Inmarsat, Sasken Partner to Develop IsatPhone 2

[Via Satellite 03-24-2014] Sasken Communication Technologies has successfully delivered full phone development of Inmarsat’s IsatPhone 2 satellite mobile handset. Sasken aided in the development of the device’s hardware, software, mechanical and antenna design, system integration, testing and manufacturing support. The two companies previously worked together to develop the IsatPhone Pro in 2010.

The IsatPhone 2 will provide improved features and functionalities including faster network registration, higher voice quality, voice mail, extended battery life and emergency assistance. Sasken completed the hardware design in Finland, software development in India and carried out satellite testing in Indonesia, Europe and North America.
