Hispasat Board Elects Elena Pisonero Chairwoman

Spanish operator Hispasat’s board of directors has unanimously elected Elena Pisonero to be the company’s new chairwoman.

The operator said Pisonero was chosen for her extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, as well as for her work with large multi-national companies such as Siemens and KPMG. Pisonero previously served as chief of staff for Spanish Economic Vice President Rodrigo Rato, Spain’s secretary of state for Commerce, National Deputy and Economics spokesperson for the Partido Popular in Spain’s Congress.

Via Satellite Appoints New Publisher

Adam Schaffer has been appointed as the new publisher of Via Satellite and SatelliteTODAY. In this role, Schaffer will oversee all of the Access Intelligence print and digital products for the global satellite communications community. Most recently, Schaffer was president of Media Revenue Partners, a media sales and consulting firm working in the publishing and events industries.
