Telemar, Vizada Launch SeaMore Maritime Satcom Service

Vizada has partnered with shipping and land-based satcom provider Telemar to launch SeaMore, a new joint communications solution for the maritime community.

SeaMore was designed as a full-service communications solution with access to onboard communications that functions similarly to GSM but without roaming costs. The service also features several maritime application suites that can be accessed via private smartphone and tablets. SeaMore is currently in its beta-testing phase and will be installed on a select number of ships before its full commercial launch by July 2012.

Yahsat Rolls Out VSAT Service

Yahsat has launched a new VSAT service based on the iDirect Evolution Platform. The introduction of the new managed VSAT service will add to YahService’s business proposition by strengthening its turnkey satellite solutions for a wide-range of market segments including governments, defence, energy, healthcare and financial sectors. This VSAT service is based on the iDirect Evolution Platform and Cisco’s unified communication system.

With the launch of the VSAT service from iDirect, YahService aims to satisfy the growing customer demand to offer ‘cloud’ services across Africa and the Middle East.
