Hughes Introduces Enterprise QoS Satellite Service

By Jeffrey Hill | March 8, 2012

[Satellite TODAY 03-08-12] Hughes Network Systems has rolled out its High QoS Service to enable virtual network operators (VNOs) and service providers to offer high-bandwidth Internet and private network access to customers without requiring a large upfront investment, the company announced March 7.

The turnkey service is based on Hughes’ HX platform and includes a bundled package of hardware, software, and network hub capacity that operates out of Hughes teleport facilities. The turnkey also offers HX ExpertNMS, a graphical network management system with monitoring and diagnostic tools to optimize network performance.
The QoS Service service is available across a North and South American footprint based on three Ku-band satellite beams.

“We designed the Hughes High QoS Satellite Service to give service providers and VNOs greater flexibility in choosing the right solution for their business needs and those of their customers,” Hughes Spokesman Sam Baumel said in a statement. “They can select the coverage, capacity, speed, and management capabilities that best meet their immediate requirements, and yet retain the flexibility to grow their businesses over time.”
