Telemar to Launch Vizada-Powered SeaMore Maritime Satcom Service

By Jeffrey Hill | March 2, 2012

[Satellite TODAY 03-02-12] Vizada has partnered with shipping and land-based satcom provider Telemar to launch SeaMore, a new joint communications solution for the maritime community, the companies announced March 1.

SeaMore was designed as a full-service communications solution with access to onboard communications that functions similarly to GSM but without roaming costs. The service also features several maritime application suites, the Vizada XChange maritime solutions platform and an interactive website, all of which can be accessed via private smartphone and tablets.
SeaMore is currently in its beta-testing phase and will be installed on a select number of ships before its full commercial launch by July 2012.

Telemar Corporate Business Development and Operations Coordination Director Gennaro Faella called the SeaMore service a potential game-changer in the maritime industry. “Vizada’s enhanced solution development capabilities benefits from our close understanding of end-users’ needs to roll-out a unique product with high value in terms of simplicity, convenience and applications” Faella said in a statement. “Owners and managers will exploit the bandwidth to save time and money handling operations anywhere and anytime.”
