Solaris Mobile Enters European Satellite Navigation Partnership Project

[Satellite TODAY 02-27-12] Mobile satellite services provider Solaris Mobile has entered into a partnership project with I-Enquire, Enterprise Ireland and the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop applications for European automotive and vehicular markets, Solaris Mobile announced Feb. 24.

   The partnership project aims to research and develop applications for route-planning and real-time traffic alerts that will be featured alongside location-based services such as mapping and location of nearby hotels, restaurants, gas stations and tourist information centers.
   I-Enquire will provide the technology to the partnership project, with support and cooperation ­from ESA, Enterprise Ireland and Solaris Mobile. The project also aims to service the infotainment market with real-time replays from live news broadcasting crews and users in the region.
