SkyBitz Releases New Iridium-Based M2M Galaxy Product Series

[Satellite TODAY 02-08-12] Remote asset tracking and information management solutions provider SkyBitz has rolled out Galaxy-series GTP1000 and GTP1100 machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions to commercial markets, the company announced Feb. 7.

   Based on SkyBitz’s GLS9602 modem platform and powered by the Iridium network, the SkyBitz Galaxy series aims to provide total powered and un-powered asset and cargo visibility to operations managers throughout in the world. The solutions are being targeted to operations within transportation, oil and gas, chemical, intermodal, government, and other markets that rely on heavy equipment or remote assets.
   “We have tested and refined our technology over the past 10 years with some of the most demanding customers. Now, we are bringing this expertise globally, enabling connections never before possible and enabling new industry applications in M2M and other new markets,” SkyBitz President Homaira Akbari said in a statement.
