Comtech EF Data Wins Mobile Backhaul Contract in Latin America

Comtech EF Data was awarded a $4.1 million contract to provide satellite communications equipment supporting mobile backhaul network expansion to an unnamed telecommunications operator in Latin America. Comtech EF Data said the contract included a full range of its satellite Earth station equipment, as well as high-power traveling wave tube amplifiers from fellow Comtech subsidiary Comtech Xicom Technology.

Glowlink Awarded Air Force Carrier Spectrum Deal

Glowlink has been awarded a competitive contract by the U.S. Air Force for satellite carrier monitoring and interference geo-location capabilities. The Air Force will deploy a worldwide network of systems under the contract that are based on Glowlink’s Model 8000 geo-location and Model 1010 wideband carrier monitoring systems.

MDA To Procure Additional Technology for O3b Networks

Canadian essential information solutions provider MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) will provide additional advanced technology to support the communication satellite network of its partner O3b Networks. MDA said it received an amendment to a contract originally announced in 2010 from Thales Alenia Space to provide a number of advanced technology solutions. The amendment is reportedly worth more than C$9 million ($8.75 million).

Moog Acquires Satellite Equipment Manufacturer

Motion control technology developer Moog Inc. has acquired Netherlands-based satellite equipment manufacturer Bradford in an all-cash deal worth $13.1 million. The acquisition is expected to add about $10.5 million to Moog’s sales during the remainder of its fiscal year that runs through September 2012.
