Numerex Introduces Enhanced Satellite Asset-Tracking Solution

[Satellite TODAY 12-22-11] Numerex Corp. has unveiled a new satellite-based end-to-end remote asset monitoring solution that enables value-added resellers to provide secure, configurable asset visibility to customers seeking to monitor liquid tanks and doors, the company announced Dec. 21.

   The full solution includes Numerex’s lightweight Satellite FLEX tracking device, a wireless FLEX SNSR interface that can be connected to a broad range of asset sensors and the Numerex FASTrack application to process captured data.

   The company said the new solution can be used even in volatile environments, as both the Satellite FLEX and FLEX SNSR have obtained Intrinsically Safe (IS) certification from MET Laboratories.

   “Remote monitoring of liquid tank levels can significantly reduce operational expenses by optimizing fleet dispatch as well as identifying leaks or pilferage. Global visibility to door open/close events helps to ensure driver and asset safety and also to reduce cargo shrinkage,” Numerex said in a company statement. “Our solution also enables exterior mounting of the satellite transmitter and internal mounting of a magnetic door sensor for a no-drilling solution. This quick, easy, and reliable installation option provides a durable solution that reduces the possibility of malicious tampering.”
