By Jeffrey Hill | November 14, 2011
[Satellite TODAY 11-14-11] Inmarsat’s Multi-Voice and Dynamic Telemetry services will be available on Thrane & Thrane’s Sailor FleetBroadband terminals when the services go live in the first and second quarters of 2012, respectively, the manufacturer announced Nov. 11.
Inmarsat FleetBroadband Multi-Voice will provide facility for up to nine simultaneous voice lines on a Sailor 500 and Sailor 250 FleetBroadband terminal while a Sailor 150 FleetBroadband terminal will be able to offer up to 4 concurrent calls. Thrane & Thrane said the new functionality will be available on existing Sailor FleetBroadband terminals via a firmware upgrade and will be fully functional in all new terminals.
“These exciting new services are major enhancements to FleetBroadband, so we are committed to making them available on Sailor FleetBroadband from the moment they go live. With over 20,000 terminals shipped so far, there will be a lot of users out there keen to bring multi-voice and DTS into daily operation and with Sailor FleetBroadband, it will be a straightforward, cost-effective process,” Thrane & Thrane Vice President of Maritime Casper Jensen said in a statement.
