Marlink Signs VSAT Service Expansion Agreement with DOF ASA

Maritime satellite communications provider Marlink secured a three-year contract to supply expanded Sealink VSAT services to Norwegian offshore and subsea-vessel operator DOF ASA, Marlink announced Feb. 10.
    Marlink will integrate VSAT services on 20 additional DOF ASA vessels, which will increase the total number of the customer’s Marlink VSAT-equipped vessels to 52. The contract also includes the delivery and installation of C- and Ku-band VSAT systems to provide dedicated bandwidth onboard 29 DOF ASA vessels and shared bandwidth on another 23 vessels.
    In a statement, Marlink CEO Tore Morten-Olsen said the company anticipates that the scope of its supply contract with DOF ASA and other maritime customers will expand to include several new builds planned for 2011.
