[Satellite TODAY 02-04-11] Swiss satellite product manufacturer U-blox rolled out its Max-6 family of ultra-miniature rugged GPS modules, optimized for industrial and telematics applications, the company announced Feb. 3.
The Max-6 product family aims to deliver the benefits of the U-blox 6 GPS platform in a more compact form factor. The new products also boast power management and seamless operation with U-blox’s wireless Leon module families.
“Our customers are demanding smaller footprints and lower power requirements for GPS positioning as well as embedded wireless connectivity. Max-6 has been designed as the perfect positioning partner for our Leon and Lisa wireless modems, enabling the design of robust, ultra-small tracking devices that can be mounted in harsh, covert environments,” U-Blox Spokesman Herbert Blaser said in a statement.
