[Satellite TODAY 01-18-11] Independent satellite company NewSat signed $2.8 million in new contract wins, including a $2 million contract with Nixon Communications to provide services to the natural gas pipeline being built between Chinchilla and Gladstone in Queensland, Australia, the operator announced Jan. 18.
NewSat said the remaining $800,000 in contract revenue comes from multiple Australian and international resource projects. With $3 million in new contracts closed late in 2010, NewSat’s combined contract wins stand at $6 million over the last couple of months.
In a statement, NewSat CEO Adrian Ballintine said his company’s strong end to 2010 rounded out an extremely strong year for NewSat, during which the company announced 25 percent revenue growth from the previous year.
