[Satellite TODAY 08-26-10] Cobham Satcom reported an increase in orders for its Sea Tel Ultra Small Aperture Terminal (USAT) marine stabilized Ku-band antenna system, as its applications in the global maritime market are expanding, the company announced Aug. 25.
Cobham customer Data Technology Solutions (DTS) has installed several new USAT 30 terminals on their network over the last 60 days on offshore marine support vessels participating in oil cleanup and tracking efforts in the Gulf of Mexico.
“We are doing everything possible to provide seamless communication to help with the clean up.  In our rental business, we deploy DTS Skid day in and day out. The USAT 30 is easy to install, integrates seamlessly in our network, and provides the performance of bigger systems. We have numerous USAT antennas deployed in the Gulf of Mexico, Africa and other regions of the world,” DTS CEO Mike Guidroz said in a statement.
