Orbit to Supply Telespazio With Marine Satellite Communications Systems

[Satellite TODAY 06-10-10] Orbit Technologies has won a contract to supply Italian satellite operator Telespazio with stabilized marine satellite communications systems for installation on oil and gas industry platforms, Orbit announced June 10.
    The newly ordered marine satellite communications systems consist of 1.15-meter Ku-band Orsat-G systems and 2.4-meter AL-7108 C Band systems. The systems feature advanced RF capability, enabling high-speed broadband data transmission/reception even under the roughest conditions at sea.
    “Orbit considers the oil and gas market one of the main engines driving the company’s global growth. Our systems boast technological and technical capabilities that ensure the highest levels of connectivity and great savings. We find Telespazio’s repeat orders particularly rewarding, because we see it as testimony of their satisfaction with our products,” Orbit CEO Avi Cohen said in a statement.
