Stratos Provides AmosConnect to Singapore Ship Management Company

[Satellite TODAY 06-08-10] Stratos Global has deployed an integrated, broadband crew communications solution for SE Ship Management (SESM), a ship operator and manager in Singapore, Stratos announced June 7.
   The Stratos solution, which has been installed on SESL heavy-lift, multipurpose vessels SE Pelagica and SE Potentia, includes the deployment of the AmosConnect crew communications application supported by Inmarsat’s FleetBroadband 150 (FB150) mobile satellite platform. The Inmarsat FB150 service is connecting SESM with simultaneous IP data speeds of up to 150 kilobits per second.
    According to SESM officials, its crews have responded favorably the new system and its service rates. SESM also said it will deploy Stratos’ AmosConnect Anti-Virus, which provides onboard protection against intrusion of Internet computer viruses and malicious software in the satellite broadband environment.
