[Satellite TODAY 03-17-10] Hughes Network Systems is now delivering its 9350 BGAN mobile satellite terminals to JSAT Mobile Communications to support the National Police Agency of Japan, Hughes announced March 16.
The terminals are being used to broadcast real-time videos of emergency situations and natural disasters to police headquarters over Inmarsat’s Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) satellite service.
The 9350 “is the perfect solution for a mobile workforce, enabling communications on the move between the field and headquarters using video, voice and data simultaneously as well as being ideal for first responders, providing them with reliable, mission-critical communications,” Graham Avis, vice president and general manager of Hughes San Diego, said in a statement.
