[Satellite Today 02-16-09] Viasat had 745,000 DTH subscribers in the Nordic region as of December – a fall of 10,000 subscribers in the last year, the company announced Feb. 13.
This was one of the highlights of its parent company, Modern Times Group’s (MTG) full year results issued Feb. 13.
Viasat is one of the main pay-TV platforms in the Nordic region and competes with fellow DTH platform, Canal Digital.
It now has 17 percent of its DTH subscriber base taking PVR services. However, while Viasat is seeing its DTH subscriber base decline, its IPTV numbers are on the increase. At the end of December, it has 78,000 IPTV subscribers, up 17,000 from the previous year.
