Xact Selects U-Blox Tracking Technology for GPS Device

[Satellite Today 01-14-09] U-blox, a commercial GPS tracking technologies developer, has been selected to supply Xact Technology with high-performance GPS receiver modules for its new line of portable personal tracking devices, Xact Trax, U-blox announced Jan. 13.
    The U-blox five-positioning engine incorporates a variety of features to speed up the time needed to acquire satellite signals and calculate position location.
    “Xact’s ability to create an easy and affordable tracking device meets a very large market need,” Nikolaos Papadopoulos, president of U-blox America, said in a statement. “The powerful, 50-channel U-blox 5 positioning engine will allow Xact’s tracking devices to determine precise location, anywhere in the world, giving users unparalleled location awareness and peace of mind.”
