[Satellite Today 12-31-08] DMCii, a British satellite-imaging provider, will provide free DMC constellation satellite imagery for scientists to support global environmental monitoring projects, DMCii announced Dec. 26.
The company said it encourages scientists to compete for the opportunity to use the DMC multi-spectral data in their research projects and that applications will be judged on their contribution to international environmental research by an international panel of scientists.
DMC will award constellation data to 5 U.K. and 5 Spanish science projects. DMCii will coordinate data provisioning along with Spanish company, Deimos Imaging.
Deimos Imaging will join the DMC constellation IN 2009 with its new satellite, Deimos-1. DMCii will also be launching its own commercially funded satellite in 2009, the UK-DMC2.
