Stratos SCADA Service Emerges from Partnership with Addvalue

[Satellite Today 11-04-08] Stratos Global Corp. introduced its new Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) Scada service to provide high-performance connectivity for remote, unmanned Scada applications, Stratos announced Nov. 4.
    Stratos said that the new service was made possible by an agreement reached with Addvalue whixh names Stratos as the exclusive global distributor of Addvalue’s new Sabre Ranger BGAN Scada terminal, a ruggedized compact terminal designed to withstand environmental challenges.
    The new Stratos BGAN Scada solutions, which will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2009, aim to support the upstream oil and gas, utility, mining, water-management and tower-monitoring markets.
    In October 2008, Stratos and Addvalue partnered to use BGAN terminals for election data collection in remote areas of Brazil.
