[Satellite Today 10-28-08] Latens, a developer of software conditional access and middleware for pay-TV, has reached global reseller agreement with Motorola, making Latens the core conditional access component of Motorola’s integrated IPTV ecosystem reference platform, Latens announced Oct. 28.
The reseller agreement encompasses the complete range of related Latens products for IPTV, cable, satellite and terrestrial networks. As part of the agreement, Latens and Motorola products will be integrated to provide operators with a turnkey solution. The extended partnership aims to enable operators to deploy and launch reliable IPTV services faster and more easily, decreasing costs and driving revenue generation.
Motorola said it selected Latens software for its reference platform because the benefits of software conditional access far outweigh those of legacy smartcards and that the Latens solution was the one that best helped Motorola satisfy delivery demands.
