Verimatrix Adds Goldman Sachs To List of Investors

[Satellite Today 09-08-08] Verimatrix acquired new funding led by Goldman Sachs, the software developer announced Sept. 8. 
    The new capital is set to fund aggressive business expansion and accelerate deployment of Verimatrix’s 3D content security solutions into the hybrid, cable and satellite markets.
    Verimatrix’s current investors, Crescendo Ventures, Cipio Partners and Mission Ventures, also participated in the latest investment round. Tom Munro, CEO of Verimatrix, said that with the inclusion of Goldman Sachs in the company’s investor group, Verimatrix’s business plan is fully funded.
    “We see Verimatrix’s core strength in understanding pay-TV market dynamics and proactively responding with the right technology offerings,” said Malhotra. “Digital entertainment is on a clear path of network and platform convergence where the winners will be companies that facilitate a seamless experience for the consumer.”   
    Rohit Malhotra of Goldman Sachs also will join the Verimatrix board of directors.
