[Satellite Today 08-13-08] Spot LLC has integrated its services with Yahoo! Fire Eagle, an open platform that allows users to share location information, with other sites and services online while keeping full control over their data and privacy, Spot announced Aug. 13.
The integration specifically enables Spot Satellite Messenger users to publish their location coordinates, also known as geotags, to the Web for online social networking.
"Spot’s global coverage makes it an ideal Fire Eagle updater, giving users the ability to easily share their location from almost anywhere on the planet," Tom Coates, head of product at Yahoo Brickhouse, said in a statement.
