Stratos To Distribute Addvalue’s Sabre 1 BGAN Terminal

[Satellite Today – 5-20-08] Stratos Global Corp. has been selected as a global distributor of Addvalue Communications Wideye Sabre 1 Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) satellite terminal and accessories, Stratos announced May 20.
    The terminal, which is intended for use by remote professionals in the enterprise market as well as government and military agencies, features built-in Bluetooth, Ethernet/LAN and RJ11 phone interfaces and can simultaneously support a voice call and data session.
    "The combination of the powerful Sabre 1 terminal with BGAN airtime from Stratos and our [supervisory control and data acquisition] expertise make this an attractive solution set for our customers in the energy and utilities markets," Stratos President and CEO Jim Parm said in a statement. "This agreement is the latest example of our dedication to strengthen our [mobile satellite services] land and BGAN services portfolio. We expect the Sabre 1 terminal will help us penetrate a significant number of new markets."
