iDirect, HeliosNet Set Up Communications Network In Russia

[Satellite Today – 3-18-08] Russian network operator Web Media Services, which operates under the name HeliosNet, has implemented iDirect Inc.’s satellite communication platform, iDirect announced March 18.
    HeliosNet installed a pair of iDirect satellite hubs and multiple remote routers to establishes a broad satellite network that can support a range of applications and maximize bandwidth efficiency at a time when the supply of capacity in the Russian satellite market is nearly exhausted. This also will enable HeliosNet to expand its customer base and introduce new broadband services throughout Russia and in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
     “We are excited to welcome HeliosNet to our growing base of partners worldwide,” David Harrower, iDirect’s regional vice president and managing director for Europe, Russian and CIS, said in a statement. “We look forward to helping one of Russia’s largest VSAT operators implement and manage a seamless network that enables them to grow their customer base in the rapidly developing Russian market.”
