[Satellite Today – 2-1-08] Craig Cooning has been named vice president and general manager of the Space and Intelligence Systems unit within Boeing’s Integrated Defense Systems unit, the company announced Feb. 1.

He previously served as vice president and deputy general manager of Space and Intelligence Systems and replaces Howard Chambers, who has begun a special assignment on the 787 program at Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

The move is part of a series of changes within Integrated Defense Systems that will see 14 senior executives assume new roles. “These moves take advantage of the strengths we have, continue the development of key leaders and drive further integration and innovation within and across our businesses to achieve both near- and long-term performance goals,” Jim Albaugh, president and CEO of Integrated Defense Systems, said in a statement. “As with our military customers, we believe that rotations strengthen the individual leader and the organization.”
