Continental To Offer Satellite TV, Wi-Fi On U.S. Flights

[Satellite Today – 1-30-08] Continental Airlines has partnered with LiveTV LLC to offer in-flight satellite-based television programming on flights operating within the continental United States beginning in January 2009, the company announced Jan. 29.    
    Customers will be able to choose from 36 channels. The in-flight entertainment system also will offer a map and other stored informational and entertainment content. Continental will offer complimentary access to the system to all first-class customers, and economy-class customers will be able to access the system by paying a $6 access fee.
    Continental also will offer complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity subject to LiveTV being able to offer the service, which is still in the testing phase.
