Newtec Cements SES Astra Relationship

[Satellite Today – 1-21-08] Newtec signed a production deal with SES Astra for the Astra2Connection broadband offering, Newtec announced Jan. 21.
    The solution, which incorporates Newtec’s access terminal and hub equipment, Sat3Play, was launched in April and has been rolled out in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Poland, Italy and France. 
    “This agreement confirms our vision as a supplier of consumer satellite broadband networks, providing affordable, reliable and efficient technology,” Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec, said in a statement. “The successful introduction of Astra2Connect into the market has shown there is very strong demand for high-quality, affordable satellite broadband services in Europe. As the supplier of Astra2Connect user terminals and hub equipment we are extremely pleased to be a part of this industry revolution.”
