[Satellite Today – 1-11-08] International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) signed a letter of intent to supply an unidentified customer with a new generation of satellite receivers, the company announced Jan. 10.
The receivers will be used to expand and upgrade an international broadband data delivery network. The agreement, which provides a minimum commitment of $3.6 million up to an expected total gross value of $6.2 million, authorizes IDC to proceed with manufacturing and begin delivering the systems early in 2008.
“Our ability to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of our customers is key to our strategic objective of being the preferred supplier of broadband IP multicasting systems for a broad range of applications,” Ron Clifton, president and CEO of IDC, said in a statement. “We are also pleased with the timing of this [agreement], as it adds significantly to our order backlog going into the new year.”
