By Staff Writer | January 8, 2008

[Satellite Today – 1-8-08] Hughes Network Systems LLC has signed a distribution agreement with CVS Systems Inc., Hughes announced Jan. 8.
CVS will  market HughesNet satellite broadband Internet to retailers in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
“Historically, we have focused primarily on selling satellite television,” Tom Collins, CVS Systems president, said in a statement. “However, we feel that HughesNet satellite broadband is a perfect complement product for our dealers, as their satellite television customers meet the same profile as HughesNet subscribers —they live in areas where terrestrial options are often times unavailable. We believe the addition of satellite broadband will open up a new revenue stream for our dealers and a new sales channel for Hughes. It also helps CVS solidify our partnership with the retail channel of satellite specialists.”
