EchoStar Introduces ViP-TV

[10-24-07 – Satellite Today] EchoStar Communications Corp. and its subsidiary EchoStar FSS Corp. (EFSSC) have launched a new video IP transport (ViP) and distribution platform, EchoStar announced Oct. 22.

EFFSC will be able to transport more than 300 channels of secure, broadcast-quality, popular television programming via satellite to telecommunications companies, rural and private cable operators, municipalities and master-planned community video providers.

ViP-TV is EFSSC’s turn-key solution for wholesale multi-channel content transport and distribution, and offers customers scalable and aggregated MPEG-4 Internet protocol encapsulated radio and television programming channels from a high-powered Ku-band satellite, EchoStar said in a press release.

The platform offers channels including ViP-PremierT, which offers popular television programming, ViP-HDT, ViP-MoviesT, which offers popular movie services, ViP-LatinoT for Spanish-language programming, and the ViP-InternationalT package, which provides more than 30 channels in 10 different languages.
