Spacenet Launches Hybrid Program For Retail Customers

[09-06-07 –  Satellite Today] Spacenet, Inc. announced a new hybrid service program specifically built for retail enterprises that will help mitigate the risks of network downtime, the company announced Sept. 6.

The Hybrid Ultra Reliability program provides a wireline service (DSL or cable) for primary connectivity that supports business applications, and VSAT (very small aperture terminal) for secondary connectivity that provides network backup, supports broadcast and multicast applications that are well suited for satellite, and provides coverage where DSL and cable are not available. The completely managed network service provides firewall and VPN support, the company said.
