Sea Launch Receives Hardware For Next Launches

[09/03/07 – Satellite Today] Rocket segments for the Zenit-3SL system arrived at Sea Launch’s in preparation for the launch of the Thuraya 3 satellite in October as well as planned mission in 2008, Sea Launch announced Sept. 3.

The rocket segments, which were produced in Dnepropetrovsk and Moscow, arrived in Long Beach, Calif., after a 35-day voyage on the Condock, a roll-on/roll-off vessel based in Germany.

This is the first in a series of planned shipments resulting from long-term contracts with partners for the production of rocket segment hardware.
