[Via Satellite 08-04-2016] Surrey Satellite Technology has expanded its Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite platform product capability to include additional configurations suited for missions ranging between 10 to 75 kilograms in mass. The new entry-level platform configurations, with pricing starting at $500,000, feature scalable architecture and a modular avionics solution.

Surrey specifically developed the expanded product offering to cater to customers requiring more flexibility and performance than can be readily provided by conventional CubeSat solutions. With these additions, the company’s LEO product capability now spans missions from 3 to 1,000 kilograms.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in the number of prospective customers attracted by the price point of CubeSat platforms, but requiring larger, more capable solutions,” said John Paffett, CEO of Surrey Satellite Technology US.
