[Via Satellite 04-22-2016] On Call Communications and X2nSat have signed a new formal partnership granting each company access to satellite communications resources, increasing the quality and geographic footprint of their services.

On Call, by partnering with X2nSat, will gain access to the company’s satellite capacity, thus tripling the number of spacecraft in its system. On Call will also gain access to X2nSat’s three satellite gateways — the primary in Petaluma, Calif., a separate, fully redundant teleport in Norcross, Ga., and the company’s upcoming New Mexico facility slated to be completed by the end of 2016. Together, the networks will cover all the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, large parts of Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

X2nSat will gain access to On Call’s proprietary satellite bandwidth scheduler. On Call’s scheduling system lets customers completely automate booking and operate on occasional use satellite space. Customers book space online, deploy their automated antenna and the space is automatically activated, all frequencies tuned and turned down. The scheduling system operates for broadcast and federal government clients now.

This scheduler, in part, will allow X2nSat to obtain access to a sizeable amount of satellite capacity, which will be used for its upcoming 25, 50, and 100 Mbps satellite backup options. The service is scheduled to launch summer of 2016.
