iDirect Releases New Universal Line Cards and 9-Series Remotes

[Via Satellite 03-11-2016] VT iDirect is releasing a new Universal Line Cards (ULCs) and 9-Series portfolio of remotes. The new products are designed to help service providers achieve optimal performance and capture High Throughput Satellite (HTS) market opportunities.

The new ULC-R return line card will feature aggregate symbol rates up to 30 Million Symbols Per Second (Msps), with individual carriers up to 15Msps and 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) Modulation and Coding (MODCODs) for improved efficiency. The new ULC-T transmit line card will feature a powerful combination of 32 Amplitude and Phase Shift Keying (APSK) MODCODs and embedded pre-distortion for optimal operation on saturated transponders. The ULCs are compatible with both Evolution and iDirect Velocity networks.

Optimized for high-value cruise, yacht and offshore drilling and defense markets, the new 9-Series remotes initially feature up to 140Mbps of aggregate throughput performance with a path to well above 200Mbps via support for adaptive 15Msps Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and 30Msps with adaptive Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC). The 9-series remotes, which come in a range of different form factors and capabilities, also offer major reductions in Size, Weight and Power (SWaP), making them ideal for Communications On The Move (COTM) applications.

Both the ULC-T and select 9-Series remotes are Digital Video Broadcast-Satellite Second Generation X (DVB-S2X) upgradable, enabling DVB-S2 networks today with a seamless migration path to DVB-S2X without the need to replace the customer remote. The 9-series remotes and ULCs will be available in Q2 2016 with future software releases that will continue to expand their capabilities.
