DataPath Appoints Expands Senior Leadership With two New Appointments

      [Via Satellite 12-29-2015] DataPath has appointed Carsten Drachmann has as vice president and general manager for DataPath’s portable satellite terminals business unit based in Sweden, and George Tong as DataPath’s vice president of global engineering and technology.

      Over the past 25 years, Drachmann has delivered large-scale revenue, profit and market share growth for companies in the telecommunications and entertainment industries. Prior DataPath, he served in a number of senior leadership positions with telecommunications giant Nokia, in a range of roles from product development, to sales and marketing, to running regional operations. With his extensive commercial experience, Drachmann will help guide DataPath’s diversification into more commercial markets.

      A 30-year veteran of the satellite industry, Tong has been instrumental in the development of a comprehensive range of antennas for Fixed Satellite Services (FSS), as well as Communications-On-The-Pause (COTP) and Communications-On-The-Move (COTM) terminals for the Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) market. Prior to DataPath he held senior engineering leadership positions with global system manufacturers including Cobham Satcom, ASC Signal, and Andrew Corporation.
