Comtech Xicom Awarded $1.7 Million TWTA Contract for HTS System

[Via Satellite 11-09-2015] Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary Comtech Xicom Technology has received a $1.7 million contract from a major U.S. system integrator to supply 500-Watt Ka-band Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) for High Throughput Satellite (HTS) gateways. These high-power amplifiers will be used to expand existing European infrastructure and add gateway facilities in Africa.
Comtech Xicom manufactures tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications. The product range encompasses power levels from 8 W to 3 kW, with frequency coverage in sub-bands within the 2 GHz to 45 GHz spectrum.
