[Via Satellite 06-03-2015] IPSAT Sdn Bhd, a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communications company in Malaysia, has purchased a Hughes HX broadband satellite system comprised of a hub and remote terminals. Implementation of the hub is underway in Malaysia, with completion expected by the end of the month.

IPSAT provides both Ku- and C-band connectivity through a range of market offerings from managed networks to high-speed Internet access. The Hughes solution will enable IPSAT to expand its offerings beyond broadband Internet access to include Virtual Private Network (VPN), Voice Over IP (VoIP), multicasting, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), and telemetry services to the corporate and enterprise sector. IPSAT plans to penetrate other markets in addition to Malaysia, including Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia.

“IPSAT will now gain flexibility in configuring and designing the network and packaging services to meet the diverse needs of the corporate and enterprise market,” said Puvanesan Subenthiran, CEO of Privasia Technology Bhd, which owns IPSAT.
