SpeedCast and Thuraya Ink Agreement to Expand Portfolio

[Via Satellite 03-10-2015] SpeedCast has established a distributor agreement with Thuraya to expand its satellite mobility solutions and mobility product portfolio.

Under the agreement, SpeedCast will now have access to Thuraya’s portfolio of mobile satellite products and services, including Thuraya SatSleeve, XT satellite phones, and land and maritime broadband terminals. The agreement further allows SpeedCast to distribute Thuraya mobile satellite products and services throughout its reseller and end-user customer base.

Andrew Burdall, vice president of strategic business development, notes that the agreement will be particularly beneficial for customers in the Middle East and African regions where Thuraya’s network has good penetration. This new agreement follows SpeedCast’s announced acquisition of Geolink Satellite Services in February, a specialist in mobile satellite services, which looks to further enhance SpeedCast’s mobility products and services in the Middle East and African regions.
