[Via Satellite 03-04-2015] SkyWave, an Orbcomm company, introduced the dual-mode IDP-782 communications terminal at the Mobile World Congress happening this week in Barcelona, Spain. The IDP-782 provides fleet managers with a single device for both cellular and satellite network coverage.

“The IDP-782 improves operations and increases safety without the added costs of roaming charges. Whether it’s saving fuel, reducing capital expenditures or getting more from less, the IDP-782 provides fleet management applications with the best data from assets moving in and out of cellular range,” said Sue Rutherford, Orbcomm’s vice president of marketing.

The dual-mode terminals for fleet management will benefit applications such as, transport vehicles, marine vessels, oil and gas vehicles, mining, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) monitoring and control.
