[Via Satellite 02-20-2015] Boeing has shifted an initial six programs to its new Boeing Defense and Space (BDS) development program in order to improve the efficiency of pre-production development activities. Of the six programs, three are aircraft-related, and three are space-related. The space projects include NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS), the CST-100 commercial crew spacecraft, and the Boeing 502 small satellite. The company won its first order for two Boeing 502 Phoenix spacecraft from remote sensing startup HySpecIQ in September 2014.
