[Via Satellite 10-24-2014] Advantech Wireless has boosted the rate of manufacture for its Gallium Nitride (GaN) product line after demand exceeded production capacity. Cristi Damian, VP of business development at Advantech Wireless, said the company was previously unable to keep pace with the requests for GaN Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs), prompting the decision to expand manufacturing capability.

Advantech is increasing the production of both GaN-based SSPAs and Block UpConverters (BUCs). The company’s GaN-based products fit with Ethernet, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Telnet, web Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) as well as Common Line Interfaces (CLIs). According to Advantech, it has improved the quality of GaN products by a 50 percent reduction in size, up to a 70 percent reduction in power consumption and up to 30 percent less heat generation.
