Bentley Walker Offers Weather-Resistant C-Band to Corporate Customers

 Archives Copyright
[Satellite TODAY 11-12-10] U.K. satellite ISP Bentley Walker launched C-Band satellite Internet services for customers in Africa, Europe and the Middle East, the company announced Nov. 11.
The service aims to bring two-way broadband Internet to remote areas prone to tropical storms and other heavy precipitation, as C-band uses a longer wavelength for transmission and is less prone to drop signal strength in bad weather. The service is being uplinked from the Skylogic teleport in Sardinnia, Turin, as a result of a service partnership established between the two companies.
Bentley Walker’s rain-fade resistant remote Internet service will be offered to corporate user through 5:1 and 10:1 contention packages. Customers will receive fixed prices independent of their upload and download usage, the company said.
