GlobeCast Installs Content Exchange on Transatlantic Competition Yacht

[Satellite TODAY 11-09-09] GlobeCast has equipped French multi-hull yacht Crêpes Whaou with a GlobeCast Content Exchange solution for the Transat Jacques Vabre, a transatlantic sailing competition, GlobeCast announced Nov. 6.
    The solution aims to enable the yacht’s two skippers to send video reports to their sponsor via webcam using an on-board satellite connection. The solution also will allow the shipmates to chat in real time with their sponsor and teammates on land. GlobeCast partnered with IEC Telecom, a distributor for Inmarsat’s FleetBroadband solution, for the installation project.
    Crêpes Whaou leaves Le Havre, France, Nov. 8 and is scheduled to arrive in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, by early December.
