Isle of Man Offers EU Customs Processing Savings for Satellite Industry

 Archives Copyright
[Satellite Today 03-31-09] The government of the Isle of Man is offering a new Entry Processing Unit (EPU) to provide a single point of entry when the European Union (EU) introduces centralized clearance for customs duties in 2010, Space Isle, the space commerce division of the Isle of Man, announced March 23.
The EPU will provide potential overheads and cost of business savings for the satellite industry by facilitating entire international import and export relationship with the EU via a single business unit, Space Isle said.
“The Isle of Man is focused on providing an effective and proactive home for the satellite industry. Our focus is on the business of space. We appreciate that in this economy every penny counts,” Tim Craine, the Isle of Man’s director of space commerce, said in a statement.
