[Satellite Today – 5-15-08] ViaSat Inc. authorized Infrastruktura TK to become an authorized repair center for satellite communication system service, repairs and spares in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), ViaSat announced May 15.
The addition of ITK gives service providers in the region an in-country source for service and support requests for ViaSat LinkStar and LinkWay satellite systems.
“Gaining the expertise of ITK for our repair center will increase the service quality and really cut response time for our Russian customers,” Robert Feierbach, managing director for enterprise VSAT sales at ViaSat, said in a statement. “With the vast size of the CIS, ITK will reduce the time for customers to get replacement terminals, spares, parts or repairs by eliminating the need for lengthy import or export procedures in each case.”
