[10-22-07 – Satellite Today] DataPath Inc. has been awarded a $3.2 million contract to update Deployable Ku-band Earth Terminals (DKET) in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, including adding L-band capacity, the company announced Oct. 22.
The U.S. Army and Navy use the DKET satellite communications hubs for critical broadband voice, video and data communications in theatre. The updates will increase the capacity of the DKETs and make them more flexible.
The contract was awarded through the program manager of the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Commercial Satcom Terminal program in Fort Monmouth, N.J.
